The Finance and Department Analyst in the Department of Mathematics, School of Physical Sciences uses professional financial services concepts, applies organization policies and procedures to resolve a variety of moderately complicated issues, and works on financial services problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. This position processes all departmental purchasing and financial reimbursements and transactions. Assists with contract and grant proposals, financial budget preparation, and other processes related to department administration. Responsible for administrative support for department and faculty events and conferences. Provides general administrative support to department functions, Chief Administrative Officer, and department staff.
Compensation Range:
$25.00 - $28.00

0-3 years of financial experience
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Working knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures. Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Strong knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems. Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making. Ability to function effectively as a member of a team.
Preferred:
Skills to provide coaching and mentoring to support staff. Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.

Must pass a background check.
