This position is non-remote.
Under direct supervision, incumbent performs duties ranging from unskilled to skilled and/or specialized, in a variety of position that typically require the use of manual, clerical, public contact and/or analytical skills. Assignments have limited use of discretion and judgment; work is regularly reviewed and may entail detailed instructions. Specific job duties are defined by the project or agency and can range from clerical, administrative, technical and research assignments.
Responsibilities Reporting to the Finance & Budget Manager, the student assistant is responsible for but not limited to:
AR Invoice Processing: 50%
Prepare invoices with support documentation as required by using information from a variety of sources.
Set up and process payments for accounts receivable invoices, including setting up vendor codes, payment detail codes, and printing invoices.
Send second notices as needed.
Email or mail invoices created for Facilities or Sponsored Research Administration.
Enter recurring facilities invoices into Research Foundations financial system (Banner).
Monitor virtual merchant activity for payments made by credit card.
Void or adjust invoices as needed.
Accounting and Budget Assistance: 20%
Prepare journal vouchers for budget-related needs such as rent transactions, account or fund code corrections, project closeout, and internal financing needs.
Prepare cash receipts as needed for Facilities-related payments and reimbursements.
Administrative Support: 20%
Includes filing documents into databases, processing and updating forms, auditing documents for accuracy.
Other Duties and Responsibilities as Assigned 10%
Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION
Current enrollment as an undergraduate student at SDSU
Previous experience working in an office environment, customer service environment or Accounting Department
