Position Description: The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Information Technology Services organization is seeking an exceptional leader join our leadership team as Director of Finance & Administration. The Director will lead a dynamic group of highly talented leaders and professionals to deliver services across a wide range of functions, including finance, accounting, billing, purchasing, human resources and administrative services.
As a key member of the Strategy, Planning & Operations leadership team, the Director provides department leadership in the areas of business planning, budgeting, financial management, contracts, procurement, talent management, compliance, risk management, facilities management, and administrative support. Key responsibilities include oversight and management of short and long-range operational strategies in alignment with organizational transformation activities related to the delivery of cost-effective, high-quality information technology products and services provided to the UCLA campus. The Director will lead diversity, equity and inclusion efforts for area of responsibility.
General responsibilities include: directs financial planning, budget preparation, management of department funding and service revenues; manages departmental expense management to achieve fiscal efficiencies; directs procurement and contract management, including procurement of high-value equipment or services; oversight of campus software licensing and vendor management; directs talent management activities including recruitment, selection, on-boarding, training compliance, professional development, performance management, and salary planning; manages employee safety, emergency preparedness, business continuity, risk management, facilities management, workspace planning and other administrative support functions. The Director develops department policies and procedures to improve the effectiveness and performance of the department; acts as department Chief Administrative Officer and is responsible for annual certifications on behalf of the department; exercises discretion and sound judgement in relation to confidential and sensitive information. The Director develops understanding and knowledge of university policies and procedures related finance, accounting, human resources, purchasing, emergency preparedness and planning. May be assigned to department, campus or system-wide projects as needed.
