Accounting Assistant II - Brown Core Services - Finance Operations

This position provides transactional and administrative support to the departments and programs in assigned department.
This position is a remote/hybrid office environment, per University pandemic guidelines.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Processes accounting transactions ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial data. Supports ongoing finance activities including accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reporting and budgeting.
Manages the PhD Programâ™s tuition and remission process. Analyzes and updates studentâ™s accounts ensuring accuracy.
Prepares financial analyses and schedules in support of monthly reporting process. Assists with the month-end and year-end closing processes, conducting research and making adjusting entries for account discrepancies, closing journal entries and accrual entries.
Manages the Quantum/PaperCut process keeping codes updated, taking care of invoices, reconciliations and allocations. Manages the FedEX process and invoices as well.
Performs other duties as assigned.
College coursework and three yearsâ™ related experience.
Experience in higher education administration.
Experience with WU systems.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, written and verbal.
Ability to learn new software systems and technology skills.
Ability to integrate information from multiple sources, utilize creative thinking, and exercise considerable judgment and resourcefulness.
A self-motivated individual; ability to work independently with a high degree of reliability, accuracy, and consistency; meet deadlines with varying degrees of pressure; possess a strong work ethic and determination; be detail-oriented.
High school diploma or equivalent high school certification and two years office, payroll, accounting, or business experience.
$17.83 - $27.64 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
