The Research Finance Analyst I is an entry-level professional; uses general business concepts for problem solving and works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making.?? The Research Finance Analyst I take on a less complex financial portfolio of grants.

• Responsible for setting up project awards and amend projects as needed.
• Manages the financial administration of less complex research portfolio throughout grant life cycle of Non-federal and Federally grants.
• Approves incoming subcontract invoices for payment.
• Ensures that awards are managed in full compliance with applicable sponsor???s rules and regulations and DFCI???s internal policies.
• Responsible for closing-out of projects, including journal entries and reconciliation.
• Responsible for financial reporting and invoicing to sponsors.
• Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Minimum Education:

• Bachelor???s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or similar required.

• Minimum Experience (years/type):
  • A minimum of 1-year professional experience in Finance, Business or Accounting. This may include directly relevant internships.
  • Experience in research administration in an academic setting (hospital, non-profit organization or university) preferred.

Knowledge Skills and Ability:

• PeopleSoft, Infoed or a similar grant management system.
• Microsoft Office Suite with knowledge of V-LOOKUP, pivot-tables in Excel
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization and communication skills with a focus in customer service.
• Ability to thrive in a busy, high-volume, and deadline driven team environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and handle complex and confidential information with discretion
