JOB SUMMARY As a member of the Global Design Finance Business Partnership (FBP) organization, the Manager will support the execution of financial processes designed to enable Global Design to achieve its business objectives.
The Manager, Global Design FBP will provide proactive management to ensure the financial management, reporting, and analysis needs of Global Design are met through effective partnerships with the Global Design Business Directors and Accounting teams. He/she will establish and maintain strong relationships with these groups to help effectively address business issues, identify and implement appropriate solutions, influence, as appropriate, business decisions, and improve overall business results. He/she will partner with the respective teams to implement, as appropriate, finance and accounting strategies, policies, processes, and tools to ensure accurate financial reporting and to monitor the achievement of enterprise business goals.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
- Manage the execution of activities designed to monitor and measure the financial performance and efficiency of certain Global Design departments.
- Prepare Global Design Net Admin reporting to include Global Design US+Canada Franchise New Build program costs and Global Design Corporate departments, as well as associated metrics.
- Prepare Global Design US+Canada PIP/Renovation program costs and associated metrics.
- Support preparation of Direct Project Cost reporting used in Global Design Continent financial statement packages.
- Partner with Global Design Business Directors and Accounting to monitor and analyze Global Design Net Admin results as compared to budget, last year and forecast. Prepare variance critiques as needed.
- Perform financial analyses to support business decision making and to respond to internal management and external parties inquires.
- Develop and/or modify reporting tools to ensure Global Design Net Admin and US+C PIP/Renovation results are accurately reflected in company financials and meet the needs of the business.
- Contribute knowledge of the business environment in Global Design and interpret data and reports in consultation with the business as appropriate, to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial information, explain trends and/or variations in results vs. expectations, and develop and implement actionable recommendations and responses to address identified business challenges and opportunities.
- Establish and nurture relationships with the Global Design teams to ensure information flow is timely and appropriate to effect attention to business challenges and opportunities.
- Support the timely and effective execution of the enterprise-wide annual budget, forecast and long-range planning (LRP) processes, partnering with the business and Global Design Accounting, for certain Global Design departments.
- Ensure in-depth knowledge and understanding of current processes and tools to facilitate serving as a key resource to the business.
- Support the implementation of new and/or enhanced processes and tools to increase effectiveness and efficiency in the execution of budgeting and planning processes.
- Manage the preparation of Global Design budget and/or LRP templates, as well as inputs to templates for guidelines to be used in the respective process.
- Support the preparation and consolidation of Global Design budgets, forecasts and long-range plan reports, including variance analyses and reporting required.
- Lead review meetings with the business to support presentation of budgets and long-range plans for approvals.
- Prepare and present financial information packages as required to Senior Leaders and Global Design leadership
- Manage reporting of metric and efficiency elements for Global Design to include hours, FTEs and project counts.
- Partner with the business to prepare hours and FTEs reports from Mosaic to allow for variance analysis against budget that is meaningful and enables management to identify and address staffing concerns.
- Prepare monthly hours, FTEs and projects/FTE report used to populate journal upload. Partner with Accounting for recording.
- Manage late/missing timesheets and notify staff as needed.
- Partner with Global Design Continent Project Accounting teams to consolidate project counts by project type for inclusion in monthly consolidated and continent reporting packages.
- Develop and/or modify metric reporting tools to ensure data is reported accurately and meets the needs of the business.
- Contribute to the proactive monitoring of Global Design's financial control environment.
- Manage the completion of annual compliance processes/procedures (i.e. Prepared by Client work papers, Agreed Upon Procedures, Federal Disclosure Document, Owner Disclosures) for applicable areas. Respond to compliance, financial and internal control audit requests as required (e.g. AUP, Sarbox, etc.).
- Use data and reports generated by Global Design and own analyses of operating results, trends and variations in results vs. expectations to identify actual/potential control issues and process improvement opportunities.
- Partner with the Global Design Business Directors and Accounting to develop and implement necessary corrective actions.
- Contribute to the organizational effectiveness of the Global Design FBP by actively seeking to improve processes and clarify work roles.
- Identify and help implement process improvement opportunities in the interfaces with Global Design leaders.
- Perform ad-hoc analyses for and/or provide information to and advise, as appropriate, Global Design Business Directors and Global Design leaders on the business environment and key operating issues within the discipline.
- Utilize strong systems skills in multiple applications in order to streamline processes and gain efficiencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline required.
- 5+ years relevant professional experience
- History of consistently delivering business results
- Experience in complex data analysis and financial modeling
- Ability to lead a team and processes to meet ad-hoc and reoccurring deliverables
- Comfortable presenting financial information to Senior Leaders in the Disciplines the team supports
- Prior experience assisting a team in a complex, service-intensive, deadline-driven environment a plus
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent PC skills: advance knowledge of MS Excel; advance knowledge of Power BI a plus
- Strong business and financial acumen
