Abbott Diagnostics Latin America and Canada (LAC) Area Finance Team has an opening for the LAC Area Finance Manager role responsible for coordinating the Area Consolidation process, margin improvement tracking, E/P and profitability tracking, as well as providing direct financial support to LAC affiliate teams in Brazil, Canada and Colombia.
This role located in Lake Forest, IL is integral to the preparation and review of Plan, LBE/IBP and CMR and will be called upon to adapt to changes in the business environment and/or commercial strategy, implementing solutions to meet the needs of the management team. This role is also responsible for delivering analytics and business support to enable informed decision making by Area Leadership as well as presentation worthy performance summaries to be shared with senior leaders.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Manage the Area month-end close and financial reporting process including the review of preliminary results and the coordination of topside consolidating financial entries, publishing monthly financial metrics, analysis and commentary.
- Establish and maintain and effective and efficient planning process for the area and Commercial functions being supported, including coordination of a planning calendar with key dates and deliverables.
- Facilitate data collection and analysis from the regions/countries ensuring reasonableness of the information on an absolute and performance basis with the continuous goal of understanding the different business drivers of the various regions / countries.
- Participate as the Area Finance lead or "country liaison" with assigned countries which requires manager to have a robust understanding of the country markets, customers, pipeline, performance, risks, opportunities, etc. Manager is the 1st point of contact for the country finance teams and Area FD / Area Controller. Facilitate weekly touch point calls with responsible countries.
- Liaison with the Pricing Team, Area Finance lead on Margin improvement project tracking, savings validation, consolidation, and management reporting. Includes lead on E/P & Profitability by customer assessment.
- Meet timing and quality standards to facilitate effective senior management review and decision-making.
- Additionally, this role is regularly involved in special projects with the Area Controller and Finance Director, business unit Controllers, and other members of commercial management and is expected to proactively look for ways to improve the planning and reporting processes.
- Responsible for financial support and consolidation of the monthly CMR process, including co-ownership of CMR files, collaboration with Area Commercial Excellence Team to ensure alignment on expectations and clear communication to country teams. Provide insights and key financial information for Area monthly CMR process.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Requires at least 7 years of relevant and progressive experience in Finance and Accounting.
- Must be able to interact with and support senior level management and to work effectively and independently cross-functionally and cross-divisionally with various organizations
- Must have sound financial analysis and dynamic modeling skills;
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills; must possess critical thinking.
Preferred
- CPA /MBA preferred
- Prefer experience in Commercial, FP&A and / or Business Development.
