Reporting to the Director of Research Administration, the Assistant Research Finance Analyst functions as part of a team that provides administrative and financial management services to the department's research operations.
The Assistant Research Finance Analyst will provide support to a variety of operational, personnel and financial transactions, services and financial reporting. These services include supporting orders and payments, reconciliation and general ledger review of research expenses, preparation of budget and financial journals, preparation and reconciliation of payroll expenditure transfers, preparation and review of travel expenses and reimbursements. Supports petty cash control processes, troubleshoots accounts payable challenges, and collects and enters data to support analysis. Regular financial reporting to research programs as well as preparing interim and final reporting to grant sponsors are key to this role as is the application of financial and accounting concepts to support the development and implementation of new business processes to support reporting, compliance and controls.
The Assistant Research Finance Analyst is expected to provide high-level customer service as part of a dynamic, responsive team. Post-award financial management and reporting are critical functions of this position, as well as minimizing risk and assuring compliance with applicable University and sponsor/donor policies and federal/state regulations.
