Business Finance Officers/Control (BFO/BFC) Partners directly with our Front Office LOBs providing strategic guidance and insight; Performs the product control function to ensure the integrity of our financial results
The teammate in this role is responsible for BFO support of the Global Trade & Supply Chain Finance line of business within Global Banking ($20B+ loan portfolio, $300MM+ annual revenue). Key responsibilities include routine deliverables such as reporting, forecasting, and stress testing, as well as ad hoc analyses and projects. This role provides opportunities to understand both the mechanics of reporting and specific drivers, but challenges the teammate to aggregate key story lines, messages, and themes. This role includes direct partnership with Trade & GTS executives and thus requires a candidate with strong communication (written and oral) and business partnering skills. In addition to partnering with the business, a successful candidate would partner closely with Balance Sheet Management/Treasury, FP&A, Controllers, and BFO partners in the US and abroad. The role also offers the unique opportunity to learn about both credit and treasury products within the Banking space and develop the following key skills: Analytics, Business Partners, Presentations, and Communication.
Key Responsibilities and Competencies:
Weekly and monthly reporting, which includes identifying client drivers as well as key themes within regions or segments within Banking.
Quarterly Investor Relations (IR) routines including articulating key messages regarding current, past, and expected business performance.
Ownership of balance and revenue forecast, which requires collaboration with various Finance partners, GL expertise, and compiling presentation materials. Includes exposure to and involvement in CCAR/EST routines.
Various ad-hoc analyses that provide line of business and finance partners insights to better understand the business
BS/BA (Finance/Accounting preferred)
Advanced experience/skills with MS Excel and complex spreadsheets
Strong communication and presentation skills
Proactive with intellectual curiosity and willingness to effectively challenge the status quo
