Position Information
As part of the CE-BIEN Administration, reporting to the Financial and Administrative Officer, the Research & Finance Analyst independently executes, diverse and complex functions associated with financial management, general administration, and operation support for the Chemical/ Environmental Engineering Department (CEE) and Bioengineering Department (BIEN). CEE and BIEN departments are academic operations encompassing teaching and research. BIEN fiscal responsibilities include the management of the annual expenditure in excess of $10M from a variety of state, federal, and gift fund sources. CEE responsibilities include management of annual expenditures in excess of $15M. The administrative unit supports 40 faculty positions, approximately 200 non-senate academics, postdocs, graduate students, and administrative staff.

As an experienced analyst, the incumbent will provide leadership, administrative, and technical support for the department fund sources and contract & grant post-award administration; accounting, financial management, and reporting responsibilities requiring a thorough understanding of complex policy and regulations. Responsible for complex awards that may involve multiple investigators, options, years, and/or multiple sub-award recipients. Provides comprehensive monthly/quarterly financial reports to the faculty and agency-specific reports as required. Performs complex budget/resource analysis including forecasting, retrieving data from campus financial systems, organizing and validating data, and the preparation of reports for Principal Investigators and management. Serves as a Contract and Grant Liaison between the department and UCR Office of Research and Extramural Fund Accounting. Maintains fiscal integrity for all extramural/ intramural funds and accounts ensuring they are in an auditable/reportable condition.

The maximum budgeted annual salary for this position is $85,000. As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. Preferred Qualifications
Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
