Designs and oversees financial and budgetary operations in all pharmacies and services of the entire pharmacy enterprise. Accountable for overall fiscal resources and assists with overall enterprise business strategy. Develops and implements new programs and policies, compliant with organizational, state and federal regulations. Direct reports are typically program managers, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and analysts.
The Director is responsible for developing, implementing and continuous monitoring of the annual financial operations and capital budgets for all operations within the Department of Pharmaceutical Services. Responsible for the financial, budgetary and revenue cycle initiatives within the department and assures alignment with goals and objectives of the organization and the pharmacy enterprise. Evaluates fiscal/business viability of new program proposals; cost/benefit analysis of initiatives, prices, drug purchases and staffing adjustments. Aligns and executes Department's operations to the strategic vision of UCSF Health. Develops and maintains strong relationships with other departments within the Medical Center, the Medication Outcomes Center, as well as with outside client hospitals, UCSF affiliates and the University of California Office of the President. Ensures high level of department customer service.
Responsible for managing all of the functions of the Finance unit of the Department of Pharmaceutical Services and Enterprise. The areas of responsibility include: Accounts payable and receivable (including interdepartment cost transfers), Budgeting (Operating, Capital, Labor, Pharmacutical), Cost accounting, Revenue cycle (charge capture, denial reduction, reimbursement optimization) Pharmacy Revenue Integrity (includes review of drug charge policy, oversight of coding management, charge updates) to optimize savings and revenue and maintain compliance across UCSF Health. Oversees and manages department finance staff and is accountable for business processes. Will include collaboration with multiple internal UCSF departments including but not limited to the 340B team, Purchasing department, Informatics & Analytics department, UCSF Medication Outcome Center, UCSFHealth Finance, Revenue Integrity, Budget Office, Managed Care Contracting and Patient Financial Services. The position will be repsonsible for conducting Monthly, Quarterly and Annual business reviews of each business unit within the UCSF Department of Pharmaceutical Services.
