The Sector Lead in the Non-Traditional team will be able to role model analytical excellence in multiple asset classes and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in front of internal and external audiences to deliver our credit story and rating opinions. Ability to represent S&P Global Ratings in a highly professional manner to global issuers and investors is a must. Our sector lead will be required to initiate, organize, prepare, and lead meetings with senior management teams and the global investment community. He/She will be expected to identify and prioritize risk in a timely manner and seek out opportunities for continuous improvement for analytical and outreach efforts. Our sector lead will be able to enhance the team's analytical and industry expertise and visibility internally and externally. He/She must be fluent in relevant methodologies, governance, and rating process. He/She must be able to collaborate with relevant stakeholders and teams, including methodology, model, other analytical teams, etc. as applicable. The successful candidate will have an established track record in credit analysis, research, networking, and outreach.
Provide analytical leadership, internal focus on risk and consistency and external focus on outreach and education for the Non-Traditional securitization sector.
Proactive outreach and research opportunities
Identify credit risk in a timely manner
Develop cross practice, cross-department, and global analytic research and commentary
Perform credit analysis by demonstrating the ability to understand and identify key factors that affect issue and issuer credit ratings
Effectively lead special projects/tasks (criteria, regulatory, analytical, education, planning etc.)
Provide role of spokesperson for the team, communicating S&P analytical thought leadership, credit story, criteria, publications, conferences, presentations, and media
Support analysts during challenging interactions with issuers
Initiate, organize, and execute meetings/calls with investors and intermediaries to provide analytical education and gather feedback
Create and leverage partnerships with other teams within structured finance, other divisions, and other functions (methodologies, model, etc.)
Share and transfer knowledge and skills with analysts
Mentor and develop junior talent, as needed
Chair and vote on the team's credits, particularly for complex and high profile issuers, as needed.
Experience related to Non-traditional assets (Aircraft, Rail, Container, NNN, Data Centers, Whole Business, Timeshare, Small Business, Private Equity, Insurance, Tobacco )
Master's degree preferred
10+ years of experience in the financial services industry
Strong expertise in analytical leadership, research, problem-solving and critical thinking.
Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor analytical team members.
Strong interpersonal and organizational management skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Be computer literate having strong Excel/Word/PowerPoint and database application skills.
Be willing to travel, sometimes at short notice.
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $163,000 to $307,800. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
