As a member of AN IT Business Relationship Management (BRM) organization, responsible for building and maintaining expertise on the IT portfolio of Abbott Nutrition (AN) Finance and Human Resources (HR). Proactively analyzes business processes; elicits, analyzes, and documents business requirements; identifies alternative solutions, assesses feasibility and makes recommendations typically seeking to exploit and leverage new or existing IT technology components. Provides insight to AN Finance and HR on how to best develop and leverage IT capabilities for the organization. Primary point of contact for overall IT needs for AN Finance and HR. Responsible for prioritizing demand.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Responsible for the IT portfolio of global Abbott Nutrition Finance and Human Resource. Makes sure the portfolio enhances organizational strategy through successful, consistent and predictable delivery of programs, projects and applications. Ability to achieve this by partnering with the business, has excellent understanding of the business processes, is aware of the evolution of technologies, and takes into account regulations relevant to the business area.
Proactively identifies areas of opportunity to apply IT for new business opportunities, process improvement, and cost efficiencies.
Core Job Responsibilities
Understands and contributes to the business unit strategy, based on the specific business and technology expertise, and translates business strategy in aligned IT solution proposals.
Constant awareness of evolving regulatory requirements and technology developments for the specific business process and influence the IT stakeholders and vendors in addressing these evolutions in the most efficient way.
Understands the specific business processes in scope of the area Finance/HR and technology expertise, and make sure that IT solutions meet the needs of the processes. Specifically understanding of divisional Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) systems and their integration with corporate or divisional ERP systems.
Consulting toward business process owners on tools and solutions based on own area of IT expertise. Recommend solutions assuring fit with Business Unit (BU) direction, strategy and priorities. Closely collaborate with other disciplines like corporate IT, software vendors, and business process owners in the BU. Where needed involve IT business consultants and external technology experts.
Influence and partner with business leaders (Manager, Director) to manage and align the process specific IT portfolio. Close collaborate with other parts of BU IT, Corporate IT, adjacent business departments and external partners to ensure adequate and timely delivery of agreed services, in line with agreed service levels.
Partner and collaborate with key IT staff of other Abbott divisions in order to support cross divisional business initiatives, and explore IT synergies and efficiencies.
Portfolio & Budget Management:
Agrees with business process management, and Functional BRM manager on the projects and applications, and provides correct information for the business unit long range plan and budget.
In the functional BRM team align the projects, identify conflicts and synergies, and act upon this
Oversee and control project capital/RCE expenditures and ROI
Continually look for opportunities for cost reductions and cost avoidance.
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.
Responsible for assessing the compliance of system solutions with regulatory requirements, inclusive of validation.
Position Accountability / Scope
Operates with goals set by the sector BRM Director and is accountable for the accuracy of the fit of the proposed business process improvements and the technical solution to the business needs and the information upon which the business justification and prioritization decisions are made. Also accountable for communicating the business need and drivers to development groups to assure the implementation phase can fulfill the business need.
Financial implications of the applications ranging up to $ 5 MM. Cumulative project budgets ranging up to $3 MM.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor degree in computer science, business administration or another discipline relevant for the healthcare industry or equivalent experience.
Desired Experience/Training Required:
5-8 years of IT experience in large or midsized multinational healthcare organization. IT expertise in one or more areas specific to the supported business process.
Additional experience in setting IT strategy and business IT alignment.
Strong project management skills, including program/project management governance.
Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills.
Experience with GxP validation.
Experience with vendor management.
Qualification in project management.
Business unit relevant business process knowledge, as related to IT.
Deep knowledge of all technologies used or to be used by the Functional area.
