The Spence School announces a search for a Director of Finance and Operations, a key leadership position responsible for the stewardship of the School’s financial resources and the oversight of the strategic priorities that maintain fiscal discipline and focus on sustainable financial strength. The Director of Finance and Operations reports to the Head of School, serves on the Senior Administrative team and leads highly experienced Business and Operations teams. The opportunity is available in July 2022, and will be filled following a comprehensive national search and the identification of the candidate of choice.

The Spence School seeks an experienced financial and business leader with superb fiscal, strategic and operations skills to fill the key leadership position of Director of Finance and Operations. The Director of Finance and Operations oversees and provides guidance on the School’s annual budget ($49,734,275 million in 2021-2022) and is responsible for the strategic forecasting and direction setting, as well as the organization, management and implementation of the business, finance, and investment functions for the School. The Director of Finance and Operations is responsible for the oversight of Facilities, Campus Safety, Information Technology, Student Health, Event Planning and Management and Food Service operations. The Director manages a team of 12 direct reports and oversees 39 other professionals and support staff. The position requires active interaction and teamwork with the Head of the School, faculty, students, staff, parents and the Board of Trustees.
