JOB SUMMARY: Analyses and reviews financial data and prepares financial statements and reports requiring advanced application and use of concepts, theories, practices, and terminology of accounting, independently. Applies complex accounting principles, concepts and regulations to practice and production. Provides leadership to accounting staff in the application of accounting principles, concepts, regulations and practices.
Defines, analyzes and coordinates the input of financial information into affiliate and VUMC general ledger systems. Evaluates, approves and provides accounting expertise.
Lead and coordinate monthly accounting close process and preparation of monthly financial statements for multiple affiliate companies and consolidate financial results.
Work with affiliate revenue cycle team to close and reconcile revenue cycle system reports, prepare accounts receivable and revenue close schedules and journal entries, analyze realizability of accounts receivable.
Review and manage accounts payable process for affiliate companies.
Participate in the affiliate month-end close process working with consolidated and non-consolidated affiliate companies leading coordination with VUMC and non-VUMC finance teams.
Coordinate and reconcile intercompany accounting between affiliates.
Coordinate completion of affiliate tax returns working with outsourced tax preparer.
Serve as VHS lead on lease accounting system reconciliations and coordination.
Leads evaluation and recommendation of improvements in accounting system procedures to ensure accurate application of accounting principles.
Completes complex reconciliations of unique data requiring knowledge and understanding of multiple transactions sources.
