Cook Children's is looking for a Director of Finance to oversee our government programs. Under the general direction of the Assistant Vice President of Finance, you will be responsible for oversight, monitoring, maintenance and communication of all relevant governmental programs that have, or could have, an impact on Cook Children’s participation in governmental programs.
You will prepare and process the budget for all governmental programs under which Cook Children’s participates. Your role requires strong communication skills that would allow for the concise, clear outlining and overview of any strategic information to the executive team as needed. You will ensure Cook Children’s best interest is in always evaluated, and is at the forefront of any new changes and/or possible changes to governmental programs that would directly impact the organization. In your role, you will also work with various consultants, as needed, to monitor proposed rules for appropriate funding of all state programs. You will participate as an active member in Children’s Hospital Association and Children’s Hospital Association of Texas forums pertaining to Governmental Reimbursement
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required in Business/Finance, Management, Statistics, or similar field
Master’s degree (MA, MS, MBA or MHA) or CPA required
Seven years minimum working with Government programs
Seven years minimum in health care or financial analysis experience within a health care institution
Demonstrated ability to analyze, prioritize and problem solve
Must have high level of proficiency with computer applications, i.e. Excel, Access, PowerPoint, including graphing and complex formulas often linking multiple Excel worksheets
