The American College of Financial Services, the nation's leading accredited institution focused on delivering applied financial knowledge and education, seeks a Deputy Chief Finance Risk Officer and Treasurer. This role will support the Chief Financial and Risk Officer (CFRO) to implement financial and accounting operations and risk management strategy through effective analysis and business insight. Serves as a proactive institutional financial management and risk mitigation counselor to the leadership team maximizing the organization's use of available resources and supporting growth in alignment with The College's mission and values. This position is responsible for overseeing treasury operations, financial analytics, risk management, investment planning, and financial reporting. This position will also serve a critical role in the annual budget and forecasting processes.
Lead the financial and business analysis function for the institution, providing meaningful, actionable insights and timely reporting designed to facilitate data-driven decision-making
Assist pricing, operational, advancement margins, and cost strategies of The College to maximize the long-term health and growth of the institution.
Analyze operations to identify process problems and seeks solutions to improve financial efficiency.
Manage liquidity profile and investment accounts for The College to assure adequate funding for operations, investing any excess cash as appropriate.
Lead consistent, efficient financial operations for The College that are both scalable and reliable, ensuring streamlined operation of treasury operations, including cash management, quantitative analysis, banking relationship, and investment strategy.
Support CFRO and work with the Audit and Risk Committee of the Board to identify and establish risk mitigation strategies. Monitor, assess and report risk mitigation progress
Oversee insurance strategy and manage the contracting process to mitigate risks prudently and at a reasonable cost
Select, develop, motivate and retain qualified staff
Analyze operating procedures to identify process problems and seeks solutions.
Negotiate and manage contractual relationships with a wide range of vendors and partners
Degree in finance or accounting, MBA, CPA, and CFA highly preferred
Keen analytical skills with sharp insights, strong leadership, and a bias toward action
Minimum 10-15 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial management, and treasury operations in complex, sophisticated organizations, non-profit experience preferred but not required
Experience in financial systems applications, including enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications
Experience leveraging technology to provide streamlined financial management solutions
Ability to serve on the leadership team and act as a valued advisor and counselor to executive leadership, and Board of Trustees and related committees
Experience across multiple financial management functions are helpful: accounting, controller, treasury, mergers & acquisitions, corporate development, forecasting, and long-term planning, reporting, and strategy
Experience designing, staffing, and building of high-performance teams and leading those teams through dynamic business cycles
Experience negotiating and managing contractual relationships with a wide range of vendors and partners
