Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Finance Project Manager for the University Finance and Administration Project Management Office (UFAPMO). Reporting to the Associate Vice President and UFAPMO Executive the Finance Project Manager will support multiple strategic financial programs and projects.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Manage multiple finance initiatives with the AVPPMO, Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration and University Treasurer, multiple third party vendors and constituents from across the entire University toward the successful completion of assigned projects
Leads project team and is responsible for all planning and coordination efforts
Gathers and understands requirements, including business process reviews, and develops and manages comprehensive project plans for achieving successful outcome of the project.
Establishes and maintains extensive network of working relationships across all campuses and business units. Follows, supports and promotes PMO Governance model and engagement practices.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
A minimum of five years leading projects of significant size.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Successfully completed analysis, design and implementation of one or more finance related process improvement projects
Familiarity with all aspects of how to effectively support large-scale critical projects in a university setting
Skilled in leadership and communication that engages and motivates staff to work collaboratively and effectively.
Experience leading a diverse team with conflicting needs or requirements
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Ability to develop and maintain effective customer relationships with a team approach to project management
A demonstrated ability to understand complex matters, problem solve, and distill information for communication to a variety of audiences is required
Ability to exercise judgment and integrity in a highly collaborative environment.
Ability to work independently and take the lead on a client system implementation.
Strong understanding of Higher Ed environment.
Ability to keep project on track and under budget.
Creativity in the application of technology tools to meet project goals and business needs.
Ability to navigate complex political environments and situations.
Strong understanding of social communication and collaboration platforms
Experience leading programs focused on or including matters of diversity, equity and inclusion
Experience with and/or understanding of procurement and supply chain programs
