The UW Finance Transformation Program (UWFT), part of the Office of the Provost, is a $270M initiative to replace the University’s financial systems with an integrated system to manage the full suite of financial transactions and reporting needs in the UW system – to include academic, administrative, and healthcare. UWFT will fundamentally change the processes and tools that the University employs to track, spend, collect, manage, and report University finances in excess of $7B in annual revenues, resulting in more timely and actionable information for leadership. Among the UW’s highest administrative priorities, this multi-year initiative is one of the largest finance system projects in Washington State and the outcome of the program will be highly visible at all levels of the University and the state.
UWFT has an outstanding opportunity open for a Temporary Finance Transformation Recruiter.
This position is part of the Executive Office HR team and while dedicated to UWFT recruitment, works in tandem with the EOHR team, ensuring HR best practices and compliance and recommending solution-oriented approaches.
As a member of the Executive Office Human Resources team, the Finance Transformation Recruiter will be the subject matter expert responsible for improving and maintaining the recruitment efforts for the program. The FT Recruiter must be able to work in a fast-paced, and ever-changing environment. This position must be capable of building structure in a nebulous environment where roles and responsibilities change quickly to meet the needs of the program. Further, this position must be able to creatively staff a program team, to include UW staff resources, consultant resources, contributed staff and other contractors to meet the needs of the program. This position is planned for a full two-year duration in order to provide continuous support through the program’s anticipated go-live date and subsequent stabilization period.
The successful candidate will:
•Work with a diverse group of individuals; placing a value on diversity, equity, and inclusiveness •Build and maintain trusted relationships with internal partners (central partners and unit partners) and external partners (community, vendors, and suppliers) •Create new strategies utilizing new techniques; implement innovative recruiting and engagement techniques to ensure the most effective program •Follow trends in the market; identify, develop, and disseminate best practices
The UWFT program is a transformational initiative that will replace UW’s legacy financial systems into an integrated modern system that offers a full suite of financial transactions and reporting needs in the UW system – to include academic, administrative, and healthcare. UWFT will fundamentally change the processes and tools that the University employs to track, spend, collect, manage, and report University finances in excess of $7B in annual revenues, resulting in more timely and actionable information for leadership. This position is responsible for talent management acquisition and talent retention for the program. The FT Recruiter will be responsible for developing, implementing, and growing recruitment and retention initiative for UWFT to ensure that FT is able to attract and retain talent throughout the lifecycle of the program to ensure program success.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES RECRUITMENT, SOURCING, and CANDIDATE EVALUATION
•Create strategic recruitment program to meet staffing requirements and fill positions based on the appropriate classifications from the University's classified and professional staff systems. •Define a recruiting strategy for rapidly ramping up key program staff in environment of tight timelines utilizing University HR policy and procedures in a manner that supports efficient hiring. •Ability to quickly pivot recruiting strategy to successfully resource for Professional Staff, consultants, UW contributed resources, and other contractors as necessary for business needs. •Work with hiring manager and leadership to understand immediate and long term hiring needs and recruitment strategies for the program. •Analyze job requirements, determine essential job functions, and identify effective competencies to recruit and assess candidates. - Partner with hiring manager and pillar leads in developing job descriptions and postings that are consistent and compliant following guidelines and requirements. •Lead and train program on best practices recruitment and hiring. •Proactively seek out and suggest new, innovative ideas to enhance recruitment efforts for the program •Find, subscribe and participate in and utilize several job boards to post FT open roles on a regular basis. •Incorporate the FT DEI initiatives throughout all recruitment efforts Develop applicant pools. Evaluate applicants, determine eligibility, and assess level of qualifications. Refer top quality applicants to specific job openings. •Manage sourcing, screening, and selection processes to include identifying, interviewing, and assessing candidates •Assist in writing interview questions, ensuring consistency, equity and compliance •Conduct candidate searches and review resumes and profiles for relevant skills and experience •Conduct phone screens with applicants to gauge availability and interest •Conduct behavior-style interviews with candidates to assess their knowledge, skills and experience •Evaluate applicants based on interview performance and recommendations from references •Screen for employment eligibility, including reviewing candidate assessments and disclosures, references, background checks, and any required certifications •Build relationships and partnerships across campus to promote FT recruitment •Partner with hiring managers and Campus Recruiting to organize recruiting events (both virtual and in person) •Be main point of contact for hiring managers and candidates alike to assist with recruitment process •Work closely with the program leadership for future resource planning
ADMINISTRATIVE
•Manage the recruiting documents records retention program in accordance with the University and department records retention policies, procedures and guidelines. •Develop and maintain appropriate internal controls. •Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, HR Administration, or related field and a minimum of 4 years of experience in full cycle recruitment and talent management. Equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may substitute for degree. •Demonstrated experience in working on diverse groups and teams; respects, values, and contributes to UW Finance and UW’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity. •Strong interpersonal skills and customer service. Poised, professional, team-oriented with the ability to work well with diverse types of individuals over the telephone, in written correspondence, and in-person. Ability to communicate clearly, diplomatically, and effectively. •Ability to handle sensitive and confidential personnel and policy information. •Ability to work independently to fulfill project assignments. Ability to juggle multiple assignments and multiple priorities, able to work in environment where priorities often change. Strong project management skills with ability to problem-solve, take initiative, set priorities, handle multiple projects, and exercise good judgment in a fast paced, dynamic, deadline-driven environment in an organized and professional manner.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Working knowledge of University of Washington’s policies and procedures. •Familiarity with University of Washington fiscal/financial guidelines and procedures.
