The Director of Finance & Business is the senior budget, finance and administrative lead for Auxiliary Services. In this critical and visible leadership role, the Director is responsible for all finance, accounting and budget activity for a diverse group of revenue-generating service units that support student life, and academic activities. Auxiliary Services business units include BU Housing; Terrier Card Office; BU Dining Services (Aramark, Sodexo, and 660 Corporation); Events & Conferences; Parking & Transportation Services (CRC and BUMC); Vending Services; Agganis Arena; Physical Education, Recreation & Dance (PERD)/FitRec; Collegiate Licensing; and the Bookstore (Barnes & Noble).
Reporting to the Vice President, the Director is responsible for coordinating Auxiliary Services financial accounting and reporting, budget development; monitoring revenue and expense activity; analytics and dashboard reporting; policy development and implementation; capital project planning/accounting; and business process improvement efforts. The Director will serve as the primary accounting and finance liaison with other University departments including Budget Planning & Business Affairs, Human Resources, Campus Planning & Operations, Information Services & Technology, Comptroller, Audit & Advisory Services, Sourcing & Procurement, and Risk Management.
A Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or accounting combined with a record of increasing responsibilities that includes at least 5-10 years of experience is required. An advanced degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a directly-related field, along with experience with PowerBI, data analytics, and statistical forecasting is helpful. The ideal candidate will possess advanced verbal and written communication skills.
