The Financial Manager assists the Executive Director of Operations (EDO) with the Wheelock College of Education and Human Development (WCEHD) financial portfolio to ensure alignment with the college operations and strategic initiatives for the fiscal year.
The Financial Manager is responsible for the day-to-day financial transactions of several areas within the college, placing orders, paying invoices, routing contracts through the appropriate channels, monitoring accounts, maintaining accurate records. Furthermore, the Financial Manager works closely with the EDO to identify and resolve budget issues and will also provide backup support for Human Resource and Payroll transactions.
Bachelor's Degree required
5 to 8 years of related experience
Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.
Strong financial modeling experience. Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
A team-focused mentality with the ability to work across many programs with varying levels of staff and management to solve problems and achieve results.
Strong analytical skills, efficient, self-motivated with the ability to follow through and implement process improvement. Proven ability to exercise discretion in working with highly confidential and sensitive matters.
Aptitude in organizing operational activities and resolving personnel conflicts.
Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and SAP.
Ability to solve problems creatively and, where necessary, pragmatically.
Ability to absorb complex technical information and communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to analyze and solve problems with innovative, creative solutions.
