ASSISTANT PROVOST, FINANCE , Office of the Provost , to be responsible for academic financing and budgeting. Will advise the provost and associate provosts, deans, assistant deans, and directors on a broad range of budget and financial policies, issues, and initiatives, ensuring that the financial priorities of the academic offices support and align with the academic mission of the Institute; assume leadership responsibility for driving significant improvements in financial practices and processes in close partnership with the Office of the Vice President of Finance; serve as key liaison to faculty, staff, and central MIT administration; represent the provost and the organization's interests on committees and task forces; collaborate on coordinating the annual Institute budget process; create and present reports; work with other assistant deans to maintain consistent policies; and perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree; at least ten years' progressively responsible financial management experience, including budgeting and financial analysis and reporting experience; demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking skills; project management experience; collaborative and inclusive work style; ability to build strategic relationships with staff at all levels; excellent organizational and communication skills (written, verbal, listening); ability to make strategic connections; demonstrated experience using participatory methods to achieve results and the utmost respect for discretion and confidentiality; broad and deep knowledge and perspective of the Institute enterprise, including academic and central administrative functions; ability and inclination to anticipate future opportunities and consequences; resonance with the mission and goals of the organization's priorities and offices; strong analytical skills; and ability to prepare and present complex information effectively to an executive-level audience.
