The Division of Nutritional Sciences (DNS) in the Colleges of Human Ecology and Agriculture and Life Sciences is seeking a Finance Lead to support and advance the research, extension, education, and administrative goals of the Division. This vital position will work closely with the Executive Director of Administration and Finance to:
Provide leadership, recommendations and guidance on development and implementation of financial management strategies, policies, and procedures for fiscal, program, personnel, and graduate program and strategic planning;
Oversee financial operations, budgeting, analyses, forecasting, tracking and reporting;
Supervise the finance support team in post-award sponsored program administrative management and services and support to Division faculty, staff, and students;
Oversee pre-and post-award sponsored award administration of domestic and international research and outreach programs.
The Division’s annual expenditures exceed $23M, including >$9.7M of research expenses. There are over 32 tenured and tenure-track faculty lines, and approximately 30 research and extension academic employees and 20 support staff. The Division manages several research service centers, supports over 85 graduate students, and enrolls in excess of 600 undergraduate student majors. The Division has recently hired nine new faculty and is searching to refill additional faculty positions during the next three years, with commensurate growth in academic programs, research, research staff, and graduate student enrollment.

Our ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field and 3 to 5 years relevant experience in financial management and team leadership in a complex, decentralized, organization, or equivalent combination. We are seeking candidates with advanced proficiency using technology and data systems to effectively and efficiently manage and report data, develop and explain analyses, and monitor and streamline operations, An outstanding customer service orientation and project management, analysis, and problem solving skills are instrumental. This is an opportunity for someone who has strong leadership and team building skills. Knowledge of sponsored projects and pre-and post-award processes, research goals and objectives, and previous supervisory experience is helpful.
