The School of Pharmacy’s Office of the Dean has an outstanding opportunity for a Finance Manager to provide financial, payroll, and administrative oversight and support for the Dean’s Office, and serves as a consultant to departmental administrators and their fiscal staff. The Finance Manager reports to the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration.
Budgeting and Fiscal Management (50%)
•Manage day-to-day business activities in the Dean’s Office, which includes purchasing, reimbursements, aid distribution •Oversee state, gift, and revenue budgets ensuring resources are spent according to UW policies and procedures •Perform complex technical analysis and financial reporting for the School •Provide lead support to the Rubenstein Pharmacy’s fiscal staff •Additionally, in the lead up to the UW’s implementation of Workday-Finance, play an integral role in the School’s successful transition
Payroll Management (35%)
•Serve as School’s general Workday-HR/Payroll subject matter expert •Coordinate payroll for the Dean’s Office •Support Dean’s Office staff and student recruitments
Administrative Management (15%)
•Develop and maintain Dean’s Office and School policies and procedures; collaborate with administrative staff to coordinate paperwork flow and records management •Lead process improvement efforts •Serves as a representative for the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration as appropriate (for example, grant reviews via SAGE).
Other duties as assigned.
•Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or other related field AND four to five years’ relevant experience •Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel •Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation; poised manner with the ability to express oneself clearly in all forms of communication, including verbal and written, one-on-one, group, etc. •Proven ability to work independently, problem solve, take initiative, set priorities, and handle multiple projects efficiently and effectively •Demonstrated creativity, organizational ability, and strong attention to detail
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
•Experience with UW systems such as MyFD, Enterprise Data Warehouse, Workday, SAGE, ARIBA, PaymentNet, BGT •Willingness and ability to learn new systems and implement new processes in response to changes
