The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (The NYSPCC) seeks a Director of Finance (Director). The Director will oversee accounting department, prepare the agency budget and financial reports, and oversee preparation for the agency audit. The ideal candidate will develop and monitor all needed protocols, policies, and procedures needed to ensure smooth financial operations.
The successful candidate will liaison with all required vendors and consultants, including outside legal counsel, to ensure that the NYSPCC can always operate at maximum capacity. The Director will identify and obtain government NYSPCC’s funding through requests for proposals (RFPs) at the local, state, and federal levels.
The Director will report to the Executive Director and serve on the Senior Management Team. The successful Director will have one direct report, the Accounting Coordinator. S/he will work closely with NYSPCC’s Research and Development Departments on grant proposals, reports, and submission. The candidate will work closely with the Development Department to ensure that all donations to the agency are accurately recorded. The ideal candidate will coordinate, attend, and prepare minutes for meetings of the Finance, Audit, Real Estate, and Retirement and Benefits Committees of the Board of Directors. S/he will also attend quarterly Board of Directors meetings.
