Controller/Director of Finance

The Director of Finance is a key position on our leadership team. The position contributes to all aspects of financial management and needs to provide strong leadership. The position is responsible for planning and coordinating the budget and business planning activities in alignment with corporate policies and procedures. The position requires the experience to provide financial direction to the company and recommendations for fiscal policy. The HR and Accounting departments will report to this position. Duties and responsibilities: Manage all accounting operations including overseeing of billing, A/P, A/R, G/L, inventory/cost accounting, and revenue recognition Manage month end closings and preparation of monthly financial statements and other operational reports, and prepare cashflow analysis in coordination with sales and operations Review variances and communicate issues and recommended solutions, and provide product cost estimates to help support quoting activities. Be able to work across the organizations various departments to achieve corporate financial goals by providing proactive consultation, interpretation and education of financial matters Integrate and train new staff while mentoring existing staff. Monitor and implement internal controls as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard assets and identify risks Ensure proper accounting in accordance with U.S Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as state and local regulatory agencies. Effectively communicate with our independent accounting firm, bank and other outside consultants

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance along with at least 8 years experience in a manufacturing environment as described above. Strong understanding of US GAAP, cost accounting, budgeting and forecasting techniques, coupled with a proficiency in financial statement analysis and projections, and expertise in MS Office, Quick Books and ERP software experience. Strong analytical skills with excellent planning and organizational functionality. Able to meet strict deadlines, being accountable for your self and your team and capable of reading legal documents Demonstrate a high level of personal and professional integrity with sensitive financial and employee data.
