Paisley Park seeks a Director, Finance & Operations to oversee fiscal and business operations at Paisley Park, Prince’s iconic museum and performing arts complex in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Reporting to the Executive Director, and in collaboration with other senior staff and external stakeholders, this position manages finance, budgeting, business operations, and administrative and personnel functions.
The Director, Finance & Operations is responsible for understanding, interpreting, implementing, and ensuring compliance with all Paisley Park’s fiscal, administrative, human resource, and operational policies, procedures, and guidelines. With the Executive Director, this position supports a culture of shared financial management, develops operational efficiencies, and reinforces Paisley Park’s commitment to its guests and overall mission. Direct reports include Maintenance Manager, Retail & Ticketing Manager, Food & Beverage Coordinator, and Administrative Assistant.
Engage with entire leadership team in strategic thinking, proactive decision-making, and constructive conflict on behalf of the company.
Show mastery of company policies and procedures; make thoughtful recommendations to the Executive Director as appropriate.
Participate in company-wide initiatives to improve processes, share information, and contribute new ideas.
Engage in continuous professional development; maintain an understanding of the live event/music concert industry, museum operations, and related trends to make strategic decisions.
Understand, review, update, and implement an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures, and review with Executive Director and external stakeholders.
Handle company’s treasury operations, including cash management, accounts receivable/payable, and purchasing. In collaboration with external service providers, oversee company’s accounting and audit functions. Maintain banking relationships and monitor cash levels to ensure seamless operations.
Prepare and analyze daily and monthly sales, finance, and management reports to ensure that financial conditions are in accordance with company guidelines. Regularly provide written and verbal analysis, and present these and other financial reports to the leadership team and external stakeholders.
Oversee corporate assets and inventory control (excluding artifacts), including technology and equipment.
Lead annual operating budget discussions and develop these in collaboration with leadership team; create and maintain long-term budget forecasts.
Retail, Ticketing, Tour Operations + Food & Beverage
Oversee retail and ticketing department, and maximizing revenue for tour operations for Paisley Park, the Paisley Park at Mall of America Store, and any related live events.
Oversee the NPG Music Club café’ and all food and beverage operations.
Oversee the maintenance and housekeeping departments. Ensure all operations and processes are compliant, revise processes as needed, and report discrepancies to the Executive Director.
Administer, manage, measure, and report on all capital projects. Lead the planning and implementation of initiatives for future facility needs.
In collaboration with the Director, Security and Asset Protection, oversee safety and emergency planning.
Oversee all administrative functions in connection with personnel matters, including recruiting, onboarding, and other employee matters. Collaborate with external service providers on payroll processing, and administration of company benefits.
Supervise review, onboarding, and record-keeping on vendors and contract labor.
Ensure effective management and support of internal information systems including telephone system, telecom providers, computer hardware and software, and all network infrastructures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
