We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Product Control Project Manager (12 months contract) - Global Finance. Principal Responsibilities - Working within the Process Optimization work stream of the Product Control Transformation programme delivering tactical solutions using a range of technologies including viz., SQL, Python, VBA, Xceptor, C++ to resolve immediate deficiencies in the processes which support P&L control and reporting, accounting and regulatory reporting for Product Control.
- Manage the identification of streamlining opportunities in the PC space for HBAP, the prioritization of such opportunities, the assignment to the right architecture and the delivery of the solutions leveraging development teams in India, Krakow, HK, and Manila.
- Partnering with the Product Control line SMEs and Process Analyst within the PCT programmes and Finance IT where required, effectively drive project delivery, manage issues and communicate status.
- Work with global, regional and country leadership, and with leads of complex programmes running in parallel, to plan and lead effective deployment of change on priority programmes in line with global and local strategic plans
- Ensure delivery of complex programmes of work using appropriate challenge to ensure the best outcome for HSBC
- Manage complex operational, organisation and technical issues proposing appropriate solutions.
- Ensure regular programme communication to programme SteerCo, enable business decision making via the Business Design Authority
- Leads by example ensuring compliance with all regulatory and compliance matters and actively manages operational risk.
- Proactively identify existing and emerging risks and issues ensuring appropriate actions and strategies to manage or mitigate impacts
- Monitors the effectiveness of a project on a daily basis, using specialist knowledge to make operational improvements as opportunities permit
Requirements - Hands on experience in any of these technologies such as Python, SQL, Xceptor, C++, VBA
- Knowledge of Global Market Products and product life cycle
- Prior experience re-engineering front to back flows in the Global Banking and Markets environment
- Project Delivery experience of at least a year either through line role, or as part of project team
- A good understanding of Project Lifecycle, preferably with a qualification
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills with an attention to detail.
- Able to build relationships and influence others, including business heads, senior managers, third party consultants, technical experts and business users
- Ability to draft or verbally present updates to stakeholders and other members of the senior management team that identify progress and explain salient issues
- Ability to prepare and review Board and Steering Committee briefing packs
