Director of Research Finance

Minimum Qualifications

• Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Five (5) years of related accounting experience that is progressively responsible 
• Experience must include at least two (2) years of supervisory, project leadership, or other similar management experience
• Experience with automated financial management systems is needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Candidates with a related Master's Degree are strongly preferred  
• Though not required, experience with research finance and/or accounting in a scientific or academic setting is helpful, as is working knowledge of Banner or a similar ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, and/or experience with automated grants management systems

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and internal control practices
• Familiarity with research-oriented financial management
• Knowledge of federal, state, and foundation grant requirements, processes and procedures
• Ability to successfully interact with all administrative/academic levels and external groups including governmental agencies and auditors
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated planning, organizing and effective time management skills
• Demonstrated ability to create and lead a collaborative team environment
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial and other data
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
• Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve problems
