The HPUD is an independent special district which primarily provides water, wastewater, solid waste and parks and recreation to the community. HPUD is governed by a five-member board of directors, elected by district voters, who oversee a $3.3 million annual budget and a staff of 12 full-time personnel. Water services include treatment and distribution of domestic water to district households and nonresidential users. Wastewater services consist generally of collection and treatment facilities. HPUD manages the community’s solid waste disposal contract with CR&R Disposal Services.
