![]() Director of Finance and Operations Stanford University About Us The Stanford School of Earth, Energy & Environmental Sciences (SE3) creates knowledge to understand the workings of the planet and sustain its inhabitants. The school is seeking an experienced manager with strong leadership skills to provide management and coordination of all finance and operational functions for one of our academic departments. The Director serves as the senior administrative manager of the department and has overall responsibility for administrative and operational functions, including finance, personnel administration, faculty services and support, student services, research administration, facilities and property management, and health and safety. The department is comprised of faculty, staff, students and post-doctoral scholars. The director is the primary liaison with other offices within the School and the university and also serves to represent the department and its administrative concerns as appropriate. This position reports jointly to the Department Chair and the Senior Associate Dean for Finance and Administration. Your Responsibilities will include*: General Administration Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the department's business processes and practices, and their consistency with University and School policies and guidelines. Financial Management Direct all fiscal operations for the department, including:
Personnel Administration
Research Administration
Student Services Supervise the Student Services Officer, and provide day-to-day oversight, ensuring that effective support is provided to the department's students and academic program. This includes oversight of: admissions, allocation of financial aid, and coordination of teaching program (courses and degrees, time schedule, etc.), and services to graduate students. Facilities and Property
