Job Summary: The temporary Assistant Director of Business and Finance will manage the financial operations for the Medill School, and provide analysis in support of the school and units. This position will manage the daily and monthly financial processes, and apply industry and professional standards with the interpretation and application of University policy and procedures. Working closely with the Director, specific transaction-related responsibilities include:
overseeing compliant workflow of all office processes,
being the primary School approver for NU Financials,
providing superior customer service and financial guidance to Medill faculty and staff,
reviewing exception forms and reimbursements that require special attention, and
requesting new chart strings.
The temporary Assistant Director will work closely with, and provide guidance to, two business office Accounting Specialists. Excellent computer skills are required, including excel and word processing software. A strong understanding of financial reporting and excellent communication skills are also necessary.
