Description: This is a 9-month, tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The faculty member will be responsible for developing and delivering course content in finance with a preference for expertise in investments and related subjects. The successful candidate will also support the department's student managed investment fund and student competition teams. Excellence in teaching and curriculum development is required, as well as quality productivity in academic research and refereed publications. Continuous professional involvement; and School, University, and Community service are also expected. Industry and professional experiences are desired. Primary Function of Organizational Unit: The Department of Accounting and Finance is one of five academic departments in the School of Business and Economics at North Carolina A&T State University, located in Greensboro, NC. North Carolina A&T State University is a public, doctoral/research, 1890 land-grant university committed to exemplary teaching and learning, scholarly and creative research, and effective engagement and public service. The Department of Accounting and Finance currently enrolls 293 students and offers two undergraduate degrees, a B.S. in Accounting and a B.S. in Finance. The Department also offers an Accounting concentration in the School's newly approved MBA program. All business programs in the school have been accredited by AACSB International since 1979, and the Accounting program has held separate AACSB International accreditation since 1986. The Department currently has 14 faculty, all of whom hold terminal degrees and 11 of whom maintain active professional certifications. Vision Statement. Preferred: The best candidates will have expertise in investments, at least two years of experience, and qualifications appropriate for an appointment to the faculty at the applicable level.
