Position Summary The Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Finance Manager. In this role, the successful candidate will serve as an integral member of the departmental leadership team. She/He will assist in the management of all financial activities by providing a wide range of fiscal analysis and support. Working closely with the Assistant Director, the Manager of Finance will review financial activity, administration of budgets, and provide analytical reporting for HICCC/Irving Funds.
Responsibilities - Design and implements financial controls to ensure the integrity of the financial data
- Reconciles financial and other data with records from internal and external stakeholders, internal systems, and medical center systems
- Analyzes financial data to show trends and identifies possible savings or other opportunities for efficiencies
- Monitors budgets and collaborates with unit managers to design and create analytical tools for financial management, such as tracking expenses
- Prepares, reviews, and submits budgets for review by senior management and program directors, in a timely manner
- Partners with Executive Director and Assistant Director on strategic business planning to execute ad hoc information requests, analyses, and discuss exceptional inquiries & decisions that routinely arise (e.g. Quarterly reporting on Irving funds)
- Assists the Assistant Director in managing the quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Reconciles and allocates Irving funds and special revenue/funding to ensure compliance with expenditures
- Serve as the departmental expert resource on financial transaction process as well as policy compliance and good accounting practices
- Manages financial reporting deadlines, along with the composition and distribution of internal financial statements and reports
- Collaborates with key stakeholders on various analytics, reporting, and other ad-hoc projects
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency of current processes and propose improvements
- Take ownership of monthly reporting for Principal Investigators and Shared Resource Units portfolio
