ExxonMobil’s financial organization offers a number of Financial/Business Analysis and Business Controls related internships for exceptional candidates each year. Interns will gain exposure to our business and learn about our company and culture, while working on real life projects. Key objectives of the intern assignments are to test analytical skills along with leadership and teamwork abilities while providing exposure to our global operations and culture.

Our senior financial management directly oversees the internship program and has a high level of interaction with interns throughout the summer. Internship activities include networking events with interns from other disciplines, trips to operating facilities and to Dallas Headquarters. Intern assignments typically last about 3 months commencing in the May/June timeframe.
Treasurer’s is the corporate finance group within ExxonMobil and has a broad mandate to develop and implement financial policies for worldwide operations. Our senior financial management directly oversees the summer internship program and has a high level of interaction with interns throughout the summer. The intern position involves a six week assignment in ExxonMobil's Treasurer's Department at the corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas, and a similar length assignment with a business unit Treasurer's Department (Upstream, Downstream, Chemicals) in Houston, Texas.
Some examples of specific assignments and projects that an intern may be exposed to are:
Evaluate the option value imbedded in phased development of large Upstream projects
Analyze affiliate operating cash balances and develop strategies to reduce or eliminate those balances
Develop financial measures to test the financial capability of competitors during market downturns
Candidates must be within two years of obtaining Master’s degree to be considered
Masters candidate with proficiency in relevant areas, such as financial analysis, accounting, data analytics, international business
Proven record of initiative, leadership and academic achievement
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Interest in international finance, strategy and management
Academic achievement and demonstrated proficiency in quantitative and financial analyst
Ability to collaborate effectively with multi-national and cross-functional teams
Geographic flexibility (domestic and international)
Many undergraduate majors provide relevant experience when paired with an MBA - common ones include economics, engineering, finance, accounting, math and international relations
Minimum two years of prior work experience
