Acting Instructor - Computational Finance and Risk Management

Position DescriptionThe Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Washington invites applications for an acting instructor position in computational or mathematical finance, starting September 16, 2021. This full-time position, 9 months of the academic year as well as an opportunity for summer teaching (3 months), temporary acting instructor non-tenure position is renewable for a total duration of three years dependent on satisfactory teaching performance and research progress. Up to two positions for this job will be filled. Successful applicants are expected to engage in research and teach up to 4 one-quarter courses each year of the appointment. It is expected that the courses will be in the department's Computational Finance and Risk Management (CFRM) Master's program, see https://amath.washington.edu and http://cfrm.uw.edu Contact: Laurie Feldman QualificationsRequirements include (1) background and interest in many aspects of computational or mathematical finance; (2) a PhD or foreign equivalent in mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, or another area relevant to computational or mathematical finance; (3) an ability and affinity for communicating ideas of mathematics and finance, in both research and teaching settings.
