Summary of the key purposes of the role
Participate to the origination and execution, together with the seniors of the team, EXT BUs and other applicable GLBA business lines, of export and project finance transactions (as advisor and/or as arranger) in Asia Pacific involving ECAs and/or DFIs;
Assist the senior staff in developing EXT relationship with Sinosure, the Chinese ECA, in close coordination with the coverage teams and participate to the origination and execution, together with other applicable GLBA business lines (if any), of Sinosure-covered transactions globally and whether project finance, buyer credit or other; and
Contribute to development of relationship with EXT clients portfolio (Asia-based exporters / sponsors) in cooperation with the corresponding PCRUs.
Summary of responsibilities
Deal Structuring Structuring Export Finance transactions under senior staff supervision:
Act as EXT deal team member for PEF transactions in Asia Pacific and for Sinosure-covered transactions globally.
Understand and implement all ECAs constraints
Participate in the client negotiation process to optimize the financing structure of the deal
Suggest structuring solutions to the senior staff in charge of the deal
Participate to the structuring documentation process and obtain all necessary approvals from relevant experts (internal or external)
Edit the term sheet
Monitor the Financing Platform and make sure that the data are correct and updated
Co-operate with OPER/FIN to ensure comprehensive deal management
Credit Risk Follow-up Assist the VP / Director in charge with the credit file preparation:
Participate in credit committees set up to determine deal profitability and risk analysis
Propose profit optimisation strategies to the senior staff for approval
Participate in drafting the credit file
Carry our extensive client research to ensure full control of risk (customer monitoring, keep up to date with the deal status...)
Coordinate the deal restructuration with OPER Middle Office
Conduct research on PCRU on behalf of the senior staff
Carry out all duties and responsibilities as set forth in his/her job description
Must ensure when initiating a new transaction that all KYC and compliance rules are applied (KYC approval, conflict of interest, Chinese Wall, SG reputation, AML, embargoes & sanctions)
Information and Cooperation
Carry out brief reports to EXT management on his/her current tasks
Communicate all technical and commercial information of use to EXT team members
Ensure timely and accurate information is provided to senior staff following any discussions meetings with Clients
Research & Development
Perform research operations and take part in all R&D tasks in compliance with internal and externals experts.
Manage the reporting to EXT management and update the deal flow
Follow up transactions outside of OPER/FIN's responsibility
Comply with all Risk and regulatory obligations where relevant
Responsibility to act within agreed risk limit (credit/market, etc...)
Responsibility for ensuring that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal Policies that relate to you, your business or other businesses for which you have any level of responsibility
Responsibility for reading, understanding and complying with the Company's Conduct and Standards and corresponding regulations. You will be notified of changes to policies in a timely manner through announcements and/or intranet updates
Working with complex structured products requiring specific technical knowledge and commercial expertise
Dealing with large corporate clients, FIs and Sovereign
Working in an international environment
Operate in compliance with EXT internal organisation (geographical area, product specificity, business type)
Fluency in Mandarin and English.
