The Relationship Director will report directly to the Head of Sales and will be responsible for management and expansion of the portfolio within Specialist Asset Finance (SAF).
SAF focusses its efforts on larger, more complex transactions, including the purchase of receivables and participation, and manages clients with more bespoke or asset specific requirements in certain sectors.
Market channels are direct, as well as via strategic partners, introducers and wholesale relationships.
The RD is responsible for key aspects of facilitation and execution, including (but not limited to)
first-stage analysis of prospective clients, existing clients and individual transactions.
They will be involved in all stages of an asset finance transaction, from origination, planning, risk analysis and credit approval, through to pricing/structuring, legal negotiation and deal execution.
This will require presence in meetings, both client facing and internally with relevant stakeholders.
The ability to build rapport, manage stakeholder relationships, strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and multi-tasking/prioritisation of workload are considered to be core skills and essential for the role.
The RD is responsible for -
Maintaining contact with clients, strategic partners and introducers across the UK.
New business and portfolio growth in line with the moderate risk profile of ABF.
Origination and in life management of transactions.
Obtaining all necessary financial statements and transaction information in order to create and analyse funding requests.
Preparing financial spreads and risk rating score cards.
Writing credit applications a
nd reviews, performing detailed client, risk, asset and financial analysis.
All aspects of transaction facilitation and execution.
Maintaining the relationship with all relevant stakeholders
1st degree in BA / Finance / Economics, or a related discipline.
Post degree relevant Finance / Banking / Asset Finance qualification would be viewed positively, but is not essential.
Working experience in asset based lending, preferably in a Leasing, Specialist or Wholesale environment.
Proven financial industry working experiences.
Ability to interpret financial statements, with an advanced understanding of financial ratios and business principles.
Strong analytical skills with an ability to question assumptions.
Extensive knowledge of the Leasing market, products and activities.
Excellent ability to generate leads. Has a strong established network.
Credibility and gravitas to represent Lease in a professional manner.
Highly motivated and ambitious.
Willingness to travel to the Netherlands to liaise with supporting departments.
