Overview of Role To take ownership of the financial accounting for Rothschild & Co's Italy Wealth Management unit and to act as the main point of contact for any Italy related Finance work (e.g. financial, management, statutory and management information).
Responsibilities Financial Accounting
Preparation of the monthly Financial Statements, both management and statutory, of the Italy Wealth Management entities
Submission of the results for Consolidation (IFRS for Group Reporting purposes)
Preparation of Annual Reports, and taking the lead for the annual audits
Ownership of the internal control accounting system that ensures data is fully understood and reconciled, including between systems (Statutory and MIS).
Reconciliation of SIM own cash accounts with third party banks
Managing incoming & outgoing invoicing through "Invoice Electronic System" as provided by local rules
Tax payments and reporting
Preparation of schedules for the calculation of the company tax returns (IRES - IRAP)
Preparation (providing back up and reconciliations that support related numbers) and filing of the following tax reports
Payment of the following taxes liaising with tax advisor as appropriate:
- Corporate taxes (IRES&IRAP)
Stamp tax on clients portfolios
Capital gain & income taxes for clients
Withholding on salaries, invoices, etc.
Regulatory reporting & Capital adequacy
Responsible for all financial regulatory reporting to Italian regulators (Bank of Italy)
Preparing forecasts of Italy's capital adequacy requirements, and monitoring ongoing adherence to regulatory bodies (ICAAP & CRR)
Cash flow management and forecasting
Finance point of contact
Dealing with ad-hoc requests, including MIS and Financial Accounting
Supporting the controlling team in the forecasting and budgeting process
Preparation of data for Internal and External Auditors
Provide advice on finance implications (accounting, VAT, Regulatory Reporting) for new products and services
MIS and Financial Reporting
Lead for Italy Wealth Management reporting
Preparation of Italy Management Reporting data
Understanding the monthly AUM & NNA analysis
P&L Analysis and presentation to Management
Delivery of accounting data at a granular level (cost centre / profit centre) to the MIS team for preparation of their monthly reporting
Business analysis of the figures to be presented throughout the bank, and commentary thereon.
Skills and Qualifications Required Successful candidates are likely to have:
Extensive background in accounting of banks, investment firms or financial services firms.
Extensive background on regulatory reporting and capital adequacy regulation in investment firms
Degree level education and relevant Accounting qualification
IFRS know-how is an asset
Good IT skills Netsim/Avaloq/SAP know-how would be an asset
Strong Excel skills, particularly relevant given the analytical nature of the job
