Petit Jean Electric Cooperative is seeking qualified candidates to fill the potential vacancy of their Manager of Finance & Accounting who is eligible to retire early next year. Under the supervision of the General Manager / CEO, the Financial Manager shall be responsible for leading and directing the work of Accounting and Finance and the overall operation of the department, its employees and projects as assigned.
Petit Jean Electric Cooperative (PJEC) is a member owned, electric distribution cooperative with 62 full time employees serving over 20,000 electric meters with 3530 miles of overhead and underground distribution line. Total capitalization of PJEC is over $111 million with equity of 38%. The electric system is well maintained with aggressive ROW and pole replacement programs. PJEC serves nine counties in north-central Arkansas including the city of Clinton and the communities of Fairfield Bay and Marshall. PJEC is a member of Arkansas Electric Cooperative Power G&T, The Statewide Association of Arkansas Electric Cooperatives, NRECA, CFC, Co-Bank, NRTC and Federated Insurance.
The PJEC headquarters is located in the community of Clinton, Arkansas. Successful candidates are required to have at minimum a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. It is preferred that they have a Master’s in Accounting and / or hold a CPA certification. Years of experience will be considered. Candidates must also possess knowledge and experience in the areas of team building, planning, finance and technology. Understanding the electric utility business would be preferred.
