With the central campus in Corte Madera, California, and a satellite Junior High campus in nearby San Rafael, Marin Montessori School seeks a full-time Director of Finance. The focus of this position is to ensure financial stability, legal compliance, and risk minimization for the school, along with professional and compassionate human resource administration, and the supervision of a number of school operations.

MMS recently completed a $3.5mm capital campaign and the expansion of our Corte Madera campus, creating a stunning waterfront and nature-rich elementary wing. Preferred Experience, Qualifications, and Attributes:
The successful candidate will be a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with strong financial management and accounting understanding, experience, and skills. S/he will be genuinely interested in education and the school’s mission and commitment to foster a culture of direct communication, energized optimism, accountability, and compassion. The DOF will work closely with the Head of School and the Board’s Finance Committee in ensuring current and long-term health and sustainability. S/he will supervise three direct reports: Facilities Manager, Transportation Coordinator, and Accounting/IT Manager. Other aspects of the position include risk management, disaster preparation and oversight, transportation and fleet Management, and human resources.

Must have a clean and valid California Driver License
Must have a minimum of 3 years direct experience, 10 years preferred
Must have either a MBA or CPA certification
Salary: This is an exempt, full-time administrative position. The salary and benefits package is very competitive, matching or exceeding Bay Area independent school norms.
