Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the Associate Dean of Administration and Finance (ADAF), The Director of Administration and Finance provides oversight of all operational and financial matters of the Bouve College of Health Sciences. As a collaborative partner with, and reporting to, the Associate Dean of Administration and Finance (ADAF), the Director will ensure the efficient and effective management of all College budgets, in compliance with College and University policies and provide oversight for financial planning and analysis, budget, accounting, clinical compliance, space utilization, technology and research. Under the direction of the ADAF, the Director provides oversight, analysis and reporting for operating, designated, and restricted budgets of the college to the schools, departments, programs and centers within it.
Works with the ADAF in identifying space needs and resolving concerns; maintains college space records; provides assistance to the ADAF on oversight of renovation projects and the coordination of large-scale moves.
Assists the ADAF in preparing and prioritizing capital project needs including annual and long-range capital budgeting. Under the direction of the AD take the lead on short-term projects as needed (for example, strategic analysis, planning or reporting). Provide oversight of budgetary approval for Part-time Faculty Hiring Process. Support the AD in general activities. Play a key role in creating and maintaining management reporting. Supervise budget/financial/administrative positions including oversight of Concur management, journal vouchers and budget transfers, and Dean's Office purchasing and budgeting. Perform other duties as required.
A successful candidate will come in with deep expertise in finance and have a key understanding of many of these other administrative functions. All decisions made in the operation of the college effectively impact resources, from hiring, to teaching, to research and beyond, so the ideal candidate will possess a sound understanding of these other areas and be able to identify resource inefficiency and help to optimize resource use. The ideal candidate will operate highly independently as a team leader, and hands-on manager and should be comfortable with and excited by the opportunity to take on additional responsibility in other areas.
Bachelor's Degree required
Master's Degree preferred
A minimum of 6-8 years of experience, with specific budgeting/financial management experience in higher education preferred. Experience with Responsibility Center Management (RCM) model strongly preferred
Ability to manage multiple, concurrent and conflicting projects and activities
Supervisory experience strongly preferred
Must work well in a team setting and have good interpersonal and communication skills
Must be able to prioritize and be organized and detail oriented
Solid systems and reporting experience required
Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with database software preferred
