As part of the Research and Technology Management (RTM) division of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), the purpose of the Office of Research and Project Administration (ORPA) is to support and advance the mission of the Sloan Kettering Institute (SKI), the research enterprise of MSK. This is accomplished through stewardship of the administrative, regulatory and financial aspects of its research and education programs in service of developing new ways to understand, diagnose and treat cancer. As a unit of ORPA, Research Finance Management (RFM) is responsible for the post-award financial administration of the research portfolio of SKI.

We are seeking a dynamic SeniorResearch Finance Manager (RFM) to join our team. The RFM is responsible for managing the day to day activities of a portfolio of sponsored and non-sponsored research funds. The RFM serves as the principal administrative resource and contact between investigators, external funding agencies, and MSK.
Manage complex research portfolios with a variety of revenue sources and act as a consultant to faculty on all matters related to financial management.
Assume financial control of assignedportfoliosand review all funding expenditures, ensuring cost allowability, reasonableness and allocability.
Advise investigators and/or department administration about funding availability and commitment activity, and potential issues arising from either deficient or surplus award funding.
Develop, review, monitor and update budgets that include strategies for cost containment and maximizing research revenues with input from Principal Investigators (PIs) and/or their designee.
Serve as a liaison between SKI Programs and Memorial Hospital departments and other central offices in MSK to ensure smooth flow of information among Sponsors, PIs, MSK leadership and subrecipients.
Collaborate withOffice of Research and Project Administration (ORPA) units and RTM departments to provide comprehensive information and service to investigators and department administration in support of on-going monitoring and holistic management of research portfolios.
Serve as a mentor to new and junior RFMs, help identify training needs, create resources, and participate in major initiatives and/or departmental projects.
Maintain discretion for confidential information andappropriately handle critical information and sensitive situations .
Interact with all levels of staff and external contacts and work under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.
An effective communicator; with strong interpersonal and oral communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with designated faculty and administrations, as well as with external contacts.
Self-motivated; with a high level ofability to work with minimum supervision.
Collaborative and comfortable working as part of a teamto interpret policies and procedures.

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree OR 5+ years of experience directly related to the responsibilities of the role.
At least 4-7 years of experience in a related field; preferably an administration environment performing duties similar to the above.
Knowledge of federal agency regulations, policies and procedures, circulars, laws and federal acquisition regulations applicable to sponsored programs.
Computer aptitude, including word processing and spreadsheet development.
Knowledge of standard administrative procedures and office equipment. #LI-POST
