The Finance Division at Carnegie Mellon University provides financial management, enterprise planning and stewardship in support of education, research, and strategic goals of the university. We are seeking a Cost Analyst/Account to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing input for the collection, compilation and interpretative analysis of financial information.
Core responsibilities will include:
Preparing annual facilities and administrative rates and work papers by collecting financial information for the rate study, entering data, and running reports for facilities and administrative database (CRIS).
Performing complex analyses of financial and/or organization data and verifying the correctness of the data submitted. Developing procedures for the collection, verification and management of information and financial data in various administrative areas of the university.
Assisting with audit response and data collection; maintaining organized records for audit trail.
Interfacing with Office of Sponsored Projects, Sponsored Projects Accounting, and various other university departments on data collection and audit issues.
Remaining current audit regulations through reading materials, attending required meetings and participating in various seminars and training classes; maintaining or updating skills as needed, benchmarking other universities, attending annual CRIS users conference and other job related responsibilities as required by management.
Assisting management with various analysis, special projects and other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field required.
Minimum three years of related experience required; advanced degree may be substituted for experience.
