The Global Fixed Income Securities Cash Middle Office is primarily responsible for the trade management and control of both the standard and non standard elements of various businesses. The Public Finance business focuses on primary issuance and providing liquidity for secondary trading in fixed income instruments backed by domestic municipalities. JPMorgan's biggest customers range from local school districts & hospitals to major metropolitan centers such as New York City.
As a Trade Support Associate you will monitor, analyze ,and process transactions via the front-end system. You will be accountable for facilitating the accurate and timely entry of transactions. Daily trade processes that you will be responsible for are: trade maintenance functions, identifying trade discrepancies, resolving unmatched trades, regulatory submissions and the potential risk related to trades. You will be required to handle complex operational/settlement problems under general supervision. You will also be responsible for performing a variety of daily trade, position, and risk reconciliations . On a daily basis you will be interacting with counterparties, traders, immediate supervisors, and settlements.
The responsibilities of the Trade Support Associate are:
To understand both cash flows and operational flows associated with each trade and to work with the accounting and settlement teams to ensure that settlement is accurate and timely.
To be able to identify areas of improvement and implement new procedures or to change existing process flows to ensure tight controls front to back.
Work closely with the Municipal Syndicate Desk and Public Finance Banking Teams in the pricing, execution and post execution of primary issuances.
Support traders and the institutional sales force with trade related issues.
Bachelors degree, required
Self starting team player
Analytical and quantitative aptitude
Familiarity with DTCC and IPREO preferred
Basic fixed income/municipal bond knowledge
Advanced Microsoft excel a PLUS
Ability to multitask in a high volume/fast paced environment
Change Management: Adaptability to learn new tasks and demonstrate a willingness to understand the detail of a process.
Control focused (Checks and Balances, Regulatory Implications)
Understanding of process flows: Ability to look at the overall process and explain it to others.
Time Management: Organization and prioritization of tasks, setting own deadlines and working to defined targets.
