The Finance Division at Carnegie Mellon University provides financial management, enterprise planning and stewardship in support of education, research, and strategic goals of the university. We are seeking Training Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, crafting, implementing, delivering, and evaluating finance and business administration training solutions that strengthen our global employee and organizational workforce by providing knowledge and ensuring understanding of the university's financial systems, policies and procedures.
Core responsibilities will include:
Leading all aspects of the full training life cycle to include scheduling classes, registering participants, confirming pre-requisite requirements, marketing training opportunities, delivering training, recording attendance/participation and capturing participant feedback.
Working with subject matter experts and leadership within the division, university business partners, and financial community on a curriculum of training programs which span financial systems, policies, and procedures.
Maintaining and updating training documentation and materials on a regular basis.
Utilizing and/or developing instructional aids such as books, online tutorials, videos, user guides, or other reference materials to supplement standard training program materials.
Assessing skill and/or knowledge gaps in the university's business and financial community, analyzing training needs, and identifying training priorities that are focused on developing the university's business and financial professionals and address the specific needs of the university and the division.
Executing programs in a variety of formats to include instructor led classes, online e-learning courses, tutorials, webinars, etc.
Assessing and evaluating training efforts to ensure effectiveness, and actively identifying opportunities for improvements.

You should demonstrate:

Desire for continuous learning to keep abreast of the new training trends and tools.
Bachelor's degree in training, instructional design, business administration, or related field required; Master's preferred. Equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Minimum three years of experience delivering in person training sessions, creating training documentation, and developing online training required.
Experience with training on a variety of finance and/or business administration topics, training and/or implementation experience with Oracle Financials or a similar financial system; familiarity with general accounting principles; and experience in academic settings highly desired.
Computer proficiency with databases, spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software programs (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite).
Proven knowledge and understanding of instructional design principles and ability to produce basic graphic designs, animation, multimedia, and audio/video productions as needed (i.e. Captivate, Articulate).
