Wyndham Destinations is seeking a Risk Management & Insurance Analyst in Orlando, Florida. This position is responsible for the financial planning, analysis, and information systems of the Risk Management Department. Monitors insurance program results, performs financial reviews, and coordinates inter-company allocations. Performs annual benchmarking and data analysis to establish the Company’s cost of risk. Ensures that accurate premium, exposure, and financial data is maintained on all risk management and insurance programs. Provides assistance and support on other daily domestic and international risk management activities.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Financial Planning and Analysis Coordinate the day to day management of premium, exposure, financial, and other critical data on all insurance programs. Assist in the completion of the annual insurance expense plan and short and long term forecasts. Prepare bridges and explanations for variances. Analyze, calculate, and allocate the Company’s fixed and variable insurance expenses to domestic and international business units. Review, analyze, and evaluate various actuarial analyses of historical loss data to facilitate accurate adjustments to the Company’s insurance reserves. Produce quarterly and annual financial updates on insured and self-insured losses. Perform on-going reviews of insurance policy deductible and limit exhaustions and retrospective premium adjustments. Maintain insurance asset maps and schedules which detail the insurance coverage for all policy years. Coordinate annual insurance policy premium audits with insurers. Create annual reports summarizing the insurance program exposures and costs and benchmarking data for purposes of evaluating and measuring the Company’s cost of risk. Information Systems Management Oversee the design and implementation of the risk management information systems used in gathering and maintaining underwriting submission data needed for all insurance programs. Optimize the use and utilization of the system by the department and third party vendors where applicable. Prepare a variety of reports to monitor the effectiveness of the Company’s various risk management initiatives and effectiveness. Maintain the organizational hierarchy structure and ensures on-going data integrity. Ensure that claim data is effectively transferred and uploaded as required by insurers and third party claim administrators. Identify opportunities for improving department productivity through the efficient utilization of the risk management information system. Provide on-going training to team members on system enhancements and capabilities. Risk Management Support Coordinate activities related to the annual insurance renewal process including the issuance of insurance binders, invoices policies and endorsements. Prepare annual summaries of insurance coverage for domestic and international business partner. Maintain current risk management and insurance information on the department’s intra-net site. Review insurance language in leases, vendor and customer agreements to ensure compliance with the Company’s standard insurance requirements. Authorize exceptions to standards where appropriate. Ensure the issuance of appropriate surety bonds, memorandums and certificates of insurance.
Education Risk management degree or other undergraduate degree if coupled with 4+ years of relevant finance, information technology, or risk management experience. Training requirements Preference will be shown to those with professional designations such as the Associate in Risk Management (ARM). Knowledge and skills Strong analytical, organizational, and conceptual skills. Broad business knowledge and organizational awareness. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a team and deal with outside professionals. Ability to remain organized, work with little oversight, and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work independently with little oversight. Attention to detail is essential. Strong interpersonal skills. Technical Skills 1+ year experience in reporting tools and techniques for large, complex organizations, including the ability to understand the business requirements, user needs and translate them into operational requirements. Advanced proficiency with MS excel (pivot tables, vlookup and other advanced Excel functions and Formulas) & MS Powerpoint (creating graphics, charts). Knowledge of table or business object structures, data relationships, SQL and other data access tools across multiple databases and data sources. Proficiency in MS Access is a plus. Job experience 2 years related work experience preferred Unless there is a legal requirement, experience will be accepted for the education requirement.
