The Managing Director of Corporate Finance is responsible for leading SVB's commercial banking business serving public and late stage private technology companies primarily located in New England and Eastern Canada. Includes retaining and expanding existing fast-growing client relationships both in wallet share and mind share, driving new client acquisition, managing and ensuring a healthy and productive team and partnering seamlessly with SVBers in adjacent groups such as credit underwriting, earlier stage banking, product sales, private bank and others. Delivers a full suite of banking products including designing/originating full banking/depository relationships, global treasury solutions and simple/complex debt financing arrangements. Reports to East Region Manager.
Ability to perform at a high level with a solid understanding of credit and capital markets, financial engineering, global/domestic treasury solutions, competition, technology market and SVB's unique market advantages. Willingness to leverage an extensive network of business contacts, community leaders, executive management of clients/prospects and other referral sources, which will enhance SVB's visibility within our markets. Develop engaging client events and be a willing host for clients across multiple mediums.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience 10-15 years of business development/lending experience in the banking or financial services industry, preferably in the tech banking sector Management experience Advanced knowledge of bank operations and products. Strong negotiation, marketing and closing skills. Expertise in risk assessment, setting expectations and managing deteriorating accounts pro-actively.
