Adheres to AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Under supervision of Manager, the Billing Representative analyzes various daily, weekly, and monthly computer generated patient account error reports, making appropriate corrections and/or finding a resolution for identified issues, in specified time frames established by Leadership. Runs and distributes work load for Insurance and Billing teams. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Proficiency in performance of basic math functions, capability of communicating professionally and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Minimum one year experience in an insurance department or related area (registration, finance, collections, customer service)
High School diploma or GED (Preferred)
Radiology billing experience (Preferred)
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:

Evaluates explanation of benefits from insurance carrier to determine appropriate reimbursement of billed amount based on contracted fee schedule, out of network benefits, and patient responsibility, and researches authorization for denied claim payments with referring physicians and hospital.
Analyzes various daily, weekly, and monthly computer generated patient account error reports, making appropriate corrections and/or finding a resolution for identified issues, in specified time frames established by Leadership.
Monitors and researches a variety of weekly and monthly reports as assigned by management within specified time frames, and identifies and forwards contract variances to the denials team for review and follow-up.
Manages collections when necessary, with the ability to work independently and be proactive in securing payments, resolving issues, and preparing write-off per set department guidelines.
Assists Billing Representatives as needed under direction of Denials Supervisor or Billing and Collections Manager, and completes various special projects as requested by supervisor and billing and collections manager, including running and distributing work load for Insurance and Billing teams.
Optimize patients' satisfaction, through polite, knowledgeable communication during telephone conversation, and maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information, collecting patient charges and controlling credit extended to patients, and provides counseling to patients advising them of their financial responsibility.
Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information; adheres to all HIPAA, vendors, third party payers, Medicare and Medicaid guidelines/regulations.
Coordinates authorization process and works directly with insurance department ensuring all protocols and regulations and followed on these cases. Reviews all radiology accounts for accuracy in registration and billing information to ensure timely and correct filing.
