Personal Finance Insider is hiring a Reporter to write about earning, spending, and saving money on the path to building financial security and wealth.
Love hearing how people earn and spend their money?
Pounce on a new strategy or tool to save more or spend smarter?
Know there’s great advice on building wealth out there you just haven’t heard yet?
Bookmark articles and resources you know can help with your money?
Get a kick out of making money manageable and clear?
This might be the role for you.
The Reporter will be responsible for high-quality service journalism that resonates with and expands the PFI audience. They will collaborate with the PFI editors and reporters to create a wealth of search-optimized evergreen content that helps readers make smart decisions with their money, as well as a trove of fun posts that put money on readers’ minds.
The reporter will also follow the latest personal finance news and help flood the zone when big stories break, and will have the opportunity to have their stories published on Business Insider’s partner site, MSN.
This is a junior role — while an interest in writing about money is expected, extensive experience is not.
The ideal candidate will:
Have excellent writing and communication skills
Be efficient, energized and have great story judgement
An ability to identify the heart of a story quickly
Familiarity with SEO practices
Personal Finance Insider occasionally highlights financial products and services that can help readers make smarter decisions with their money. When readers take action based on one of our recommendations, PFI gets a small share of the revenue from our commerce partners.
Despite this, the reporter will always put the reader first, never compromising editorial integrity and journalism standards.
This is a full-time position that can be based in our New York City headquarters, in our San Francisco or LA offices, or remotely. Business Insider offers competitive compensation packages complete with benefits.
Created for the digital generation, Business Insider is the largest business news site in the U.S. and one of the fastest-growing news brands in the world.
